I’m a PhD student studying at SRUC and the University of Edinburgh. The aim of my PhD is to investigate how crossbreeding could reduce greenhouse gas emissions in cattle farming in Sub-Saharan Africa. I am interested in animal breeding and genetics, having recently completed MSc courses in quantitative genetics at the University of Edinburgh. I am particularly interested in cattle farming as I have grown up on my parent’s pedigree beef farm and am involved in a number of breed societies in the UK.

My vision of success for collaborative research is that by working together our outcome can be better than the sum of our individual contributions.
