My interest is in livestock sector quantification and forecasting under different scenarios and taking a herd/flock model approach to estimating productivity now and under different combinations of interventions in order to inform targeting and impact assessment. This is relevant to the socio-economic, public health and environmental impacts of livestock sector development. Currently I am particularly interested in antibiotic use in livestock and the development, persistence and transmission of antibiotic resistant genes between livestock the environment and people – though I am not sure how relevant this to the present meeting.

Vision of success:

‘My vision of success for collaborative research is jointly funded projects, building on the respective strengths of both institutes, with shared students (possibly staff) and outputs – commonly disseminated through the networks of both institutes.'
